Wellness

When you hear or see the word “wellness” you may think tall, thin and muscular. But wellness isn’t only our physical appearance it is our mental, financial, and social well-being. We must be healthy in all our aspects so that we may have the balance we need.

Physical Wellness- We must exercise and eat healthy meals. People may think exercise and panic because they figure exercise means running many miles, push-ups, sit up, and all these other crazy exercises. But it’s as easy as walking for 30 minutes everyday! So you don’t have to kill yourself exercising. By eating healthy, I don’t mean starving yourself; I mean eating plenty of fruits and vegetables, not too much meat or junk food.

Mental Wellness- Sometimes our minds need a break. We have to get away from everything and everyone at least for a while you can do this by going somewhere calm and quiet and meditate. Meditating is an excellent way to relieve stress, not to mention it feels great! I like to sometimes sit on the floor and cleanse my mind of everything and think happy thoughts, I like to think about when I was a kid and used to go to the park with my parents. You can go to the salon get massages and facials, they always make you feel relieved and fresh, not to mention they beautify! You can also go camping and interact with nature for a while. Another way to relieve stress is writing, or doing art.  Something else that would work is tai chi, I haven’t practices tai chi much in fact I have only done like one little lesson but it feels great, it soothes you a lot. If you don’t like any of these suggestions do something you love.

Financial Wellness- Just like our body and mind need a break so does our wallet. Try not to spend much money on anything unnecessary, spend it on the necessary such as bills, rent, school supplies etc. Also try saving money; you never know when you will need it.

Social Wellness- Social wellness is also very important because it links to mental and sometimes even physical well-being. Social wellness is having many friends and being at peace with others. A healthy social wellness person is always happy and kind. They are kind to everyone and smile or say hi even if they don’t know the person. A person like that is very liked, and if you are very liked you feel great and you will be mentally/emotionally healthy.

As you can see all of these are linked together, try to balance them all together, so that your life can be well balanced. If you have too much of one or too less of the other you wont be all that healthy so try to balance them all out.
Be Healthy!
